Course Overview
In this 1st grade math course, students will dive into essential topics like number sense, addition, and subtraction, which are the building blocks for their math journey. They will develop great skills such as counting, recognizing numbers, and mastering simple math operations. Along with basic arithmetic, the course explores key topics like comparing numbers, creating graphs, measuring length, and understanding time. Students will also learn about geometry and fractions to develop spatial awareness and strengthen their critical thinking skills. With plenty of games, hands-on activities, and group projects, the course keeps math fun, engaging, and interactive.
The use of games and collaborative projects throughout the course will help students apply their knowledge in practical situations. 1st Grade Math Lesson Plans
Each lesson will be both informative and fun, ensuring that students understand the basic principles of math. Students will be proficient in telling time and recognizing the value of digits in numbers up to 100. They will have a clear understanding of place value and be able to compare numbers using terms like greater than, less than, and equal to. In addition to these core areas, first graders are also building good study habits and developing an enthusiasm for learning that will set the stage for future grades!
