Acellus HD is a major upgrade. The new “High Definition” edition delivers improved video lessons, homeschooling tools, and reports in a new, mobile-friendly platform.

What new features are available for students in Acellus HD?
Acellus HD delivers improved video lessons with a modern, mobile-friendly and intuitive interface. New video and assessment retake tools make it easier than ever for students to get extra help or re-start a practice quiz or an exam. There are enhanced student goal features with completion notifications. Estimated course completion dates automatically update as a student progresses through a course to provide an easy reference on how their work is paying off. High-definition videos will also be made available upon release, with resolutions subject to bandwidth availability at the student location.
How can students replay videos or retake lessons?
How can students view weekly goals or know how much to do?
In Acellus HD, students can now view their daily goals directly within each course. While studying in a course, the daily goal will be located under the Course Menu (☰) on the upper-right corner of the screen.
Is it possible to print the lesson manuals?
Acellus HD does not provide a way for parents to print Acellus lesson manuals. This is a mandated requirement of Acellus for all users and is not an option available to Power Homeschool. The lesson manuals are available to students at all times except while taking an exam. Also, the parent resources have become greatly enhanced as part of the new Acellus HD offering.
On the other hand, the Acellus online learning resource may not be the right fit for everyone. It may be that some students do better with hard copy lesson material rather than the computer-based learning resource we are offering. There are many hard-copy textbooks available to fulfill this purpose.

Will my students need to restart their courses when they upgrade to Acellus HD?
No, all student records would seamlessly transfer to the new interface so that no course progress is lost.

What new features are available for parents in Acellus HD?
How can I view a course syllabus?
Where is the live monitor feature?
In Acellus HD, parents can monitor all of their students from the Dashboard. When a student signs in, a green indicator will appear on the student card. The system will also highlight the class the student is actively working in.
How large should weekly goals be and are there any limits?
Acellus creator Dr. Roger Billings recommends limiting weekly goals to 20 steps or less per class. This helps to ensure that all students have enough time to fully understand and absorb the material before moving on. In Acellus HD, high school core courses have a pacing guide in place with a weekly step limit of 40 steps, meaning that students cannot complete one of these full year courses in less than a semester. This requirement is due to NCAA and accreditation requirements at schools who use Acellus courses. Research also shows that this approach significantly enhances students’ ability to retain and recall information for future use. For situations where parents need another option and do not need an Acellus course completion certificate, www.2tor.online can be a useful alternative.
Is Tutor Mode available with Acellus HD?
Tutoring Mode is not available for students in Acellus HD, however, the ability to preview upcoming and previous work in any order you choose is available as a Parent Interface tool. When parents navigate to the Syllabus view, they have unrestricted access to course videos, books, and special lessons. These features are especially helpful for reviewing upcoming material and for parents providing one-on-one support for their students.
