Course Overview

Power Homeschool’s Kindergarten Science course, taught by Acellus instructor Ms. Amanda, is designed to spark young learners’ natural curiosity about the world around them. Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, this engaging course introduces foundational science concepts in a fun and exciting way. By encouraging observation, exploration, and creativity, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while building a lifelong love of discovery.

The course begins with students exploring the five senses, measurement, and experimentation, creating science journals and completing their first science fair project. They will continue their journey through units on plants, animals, and Earth, with activities such as sprouting seeds, studying bugs, and learning about recycling and composting. Other topics include weather phenomena, space exploration, and states of matter, featuring exciting projects like tornadoes in bottles, galaxy jars, and slime-making. Toward the end of the course, students learn about forces, energy, and the human body, experimenting with wheels, pulleys, light, sound, and nutrition. The course wraps up with a focus on engineering, where students design bridges, foil boats, and zip lines to solve real-world challenges.

With creative projects, engaging virtual field trips, and exciting lessons, this course ensures young learners are actively involved in their education. From observing the night sky to planting trees, the curriculum combines science exploration with practical, real-life applications, making learning both meaningful and exciting.
