Course Overview
In this 2nd grade math course, students will encounter a wide range of essential mathematical concepts. This course begins by building a strong foundation in addition and subtraction, progressively introducing more challenging problems and strategies. As students gain confidence in these operations, they move on to exploring various types of graphs, including surveys and line plots, helping them to interpret and analyze data effectively. The course also introduces practical skills such as counting money and telling time, ensuring students can apply math to everyday situations.
Students will further dive into measurements, learning how to measure length, weight, and volume, while also exploring fractions to understand parts of a whole. Additionally, they will master the skill of skip counting, which lays the groundwork for more advanced multiplication and division. As they near the end of the course, students receive an introductory look at these two important operations, sparking curiosity for future learning. This comprehensive course is taught by Acellus Course Instructor, Mark Rogers, who guides students through each topic with clarity and expertise, ensuring a well-rounded mathematical foundation.

2nd Grade Math Worksheets – Included!
With our 2nd grade math worksheets, students will practice measuring objects using rulers, measuring tapes, and scales. They will begin to understand the relationship between different units of measurement (e.g., inches and centimeters).
2nd Grade Math Lesson Plans
After finishing second grade math, students will be able to add and subtract within 100, understand basic multiplication and division, and grasp place value up to 1,000. They will confidently tell time to the nearest five minutes, count money, and solve simple word problems. Students will also be familiar with measuring lengths, working with basic fractions (like halves and quarters), and interpreting simple graphs and data.
