Course Overview

In this Acellus 3rd grade science course, students will embark on an exciting adventure through life, earth, and physical science! As they progress, they will explore the different states of matter, discover energy in its many forms, and learn about forces, motion, and Earth’s natural processes. Students will continue to explore the solar system, study ecosystems, and understand how energy flows between organisms as well. Along the way, students will engage in hands-on 3rd grade science projects such as building simple circuits to understand how electricity works, exploring static electricity with balloons, and creating solar-powered cars to learn about renewable energy.

Students will also test conductors and insulators and investigate how energy can be transferred through different materials. These fun and interactive science projects allow students to meet various scientists and get real-world experience, discovering how things work. By exploring real-world examples and joining fun, interactive lessons, students will build strong thinking skills and a solid understanding of science. This helps them better understand how the world works and get ready for more exciting science lessons in the grades ahead!

3rd Grade Science Lesson Plans

Students will have learned about the basics of life science, physical science, and earth science. They will understand the needs of living organisms, the structure and function of plants and animals, and the processes of ecosystems. Students will explore forces and motion, energy, matter, and simple machines. They will study weather patterns, the water cycle, and Earth’s natural resources. Additionally, students will learn how to make observations, conduct simple experiments, and analyze data. By mastering these foundational concepts, students will be well-prepared to explore more complex scientific principles and deepen their understanding in the upcoming grades.
